Created in 1997, Dozer Day is a unique, exciting family outing and fundraising event. Benefiting the Hamilton Education Foundation, this extraordinary event attracted 7,500 people its first year. The attendance has grown to over 20,000 attendees in 2003. In just nine years, Dozer Day has raised over $675,000 to enhance and enrich the educational opportunities for the students in the Hamilton School District.
In a cooperative effort among seven major sponsors and a planning committee of over 50 people Halquist Stone Company opens its Town of Lisbon quarry to the public for tours and an opportunity to learn more about the quarry, military and heavy construction equipment.
Kids of all ages are able to participate in a wide variety of activities and the smiles on their faces easily reflect why over 100 companies provide financial support, donated goods, services and time to the event.
The Hamilton Education Foundation was established by friends and supporters of the Hamilton School District in 1991. The Foundation's purpose is to generate financial support and other resources to enhance and enrich the educational opportunities of the District, which serves the communities of Sussex, Lannon, Butler, Lisbon, Colgate, Menomonee Falls and Pewaukee.
It is the mission of the Hamilton Education Foundation, in partnership with the community, to enhance educational opportunities for learners in the Hamilton public schools by obtaining and distributing financial and other resources.
Committed to achieving creative and academic excellence for the 21st century, the foundation has raised and distributed tens of thousands of dollars for programs. A nonprofit corporation, the Foundation is operated independently from the Hamilton School District and is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees.
A program that recognizes students for academic achievement and performance who because of their outstanding performance will make academic excellence in the 21st century a priority.
Support of academic/cultural programs and/or projects for students
A program that recognizes teachers for meritorious performance in the classroom - teachers who are outstanding role models by "enhancing our children's futures."
Grants for fine arts enrichment programs for students may include artists-in-residence; may include artists outside the school district; programs and projects which enrich the learning experiences of students in the fine arts curriculums as well as supplement teaching efforts
Grants for innovative classroom projects which will enrich or supplement teaching efforts and learning activities that directly benefit students. An opportunity to develop ideas for classroom enrichment not usually possible within normal school budget restrictions.
Students Taking Advantage of Renewal in Summer (STARS). Grants for students is available for students K-11 for off campus summer enrichment programs in academic or fine arts seminars, camps, workshops, pre-college programs, classes, or career exploration.
A grant to fund innovative, creative educational and/or enrichment projects or programs researched, developed or created and implemented by students under the supervision of a teacher or advisor for classes, organizations, or special disciplines in education.
Grants which fund technology projects and/or equipment for the classroom. An opportunity to develop ideas not usually possible with normal school budget restrictions. Grants will be made for innovative projects which enrich or supplement teaching efforts and learning activities that directly benefit students.
